For my son’s 14th birthday we booked a private bioluminescence tour for our large family of 9. Logan and Franco were are guides and we had so much fun, seeing the wildlife so active and getting to learn about the biodiversity, landscape changes, and our impact on the environment was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Very accommodating and helpful. The perks are the dock launch rather than wading in at the beach, and the low key stress free check in and gear fitting. We have kayaked with several companies but this is our favorite in the Monterey area.

Visited with a group of 10 on a family trip and found the process easy and well organized. Staff is patient and friendly and our guide Kaylie was exceptional — amazingly deep knowledge of the ecosystem and also helped rescue some other kayakers whose unwise horseplay resulted in a quick dunk in the slough. Wildlife level was pretty amazing, there wasn’t a time we weren’t watching otters, seals, and we even saw a sea lion. A highlight of our visit. I should also mention the nearby kayak rental place we initially visited due to a navigation error helped us get to the Kayak Connection, very nice folks and very nice sense of positive community in the Slough. We went back and bought a pullover from them as they also have a nice shop for any gear you may need.

Did a guided tour with our family (2 kids). Really enjoyed it. The guides did a great job with the kids and showing them all the different types of kelp/seaweed/sea grass in the slough. Got to hold some jellyfish and saw bunches of otters/seals and birds.

Family of four booked the wildlife tour in the Elkhorn Slough. Unbelievable amount of otters, harbor seals, sea lions, brown and white pelicans, cormorants, Great Blue Herons, Egrets, Great Egrets, anemones, jelly fish, and flat fish. The tour was 3 hours, relaxed and informative, with a lot of breaks, and fairly easy conditions to paddle in. Even with tides coming in, the slough paddle was calm. I have had some rough experiences with east coast paddles around the coast, so it was a nice change of pace to have a calm paddle, where you can take time to see seals playing, otters cracking crabs, or birds catching fish.Knowledgeable and friendly guides, who loved the slough and were encyclopedic in their information about the place, which helped provide a lot of context on what we were seeing and why it was so special. No spoilers here.Could not have been nicer people to deal with and were extremely accommodating when we had to reschedule at the last minute. Highlight of our week up and down Highway 1.
